I work at home and sit by a window looking outside at a beautiful flowering Japanese plum tree. Throughout the spring and summer months, it is filled with sparrows, robins, and other birds native to my area. I spend a lot of the day just watching them land and hang out on the tree branches.

With a window bird feeder, I can easily attract even more birds to my house and get closer to them as they come right up to my window and perch in the feeder for a few minutes.

It adds so much joy to my workday and allows me to enjoy their singing and companionship.

There are a lot of different types of feeders you can choose from. I love the simple suction cup kind because it doesn’t require any special tools to install and I don’t have to worry about ruining the window or the window frame.

Plus you can put different types of food and seeds in the compartments to give variety to the birds.

There are also multi-layer ones with suction cups as well if you have a larger bay window-type area.

Regardless of the type of feeder, make sure to change the food regularly and find out what type of food would attract the type of bird that you want to see.

Also, if the window is close to a tree (like mine) or near the ground, you may want to think about investing in a window bird feeder that is squirrel-proof so you don’t attract squirrels and other animals like that.
